Walk the Night is the first single from the debut album for EWAH & The Vision of Paradise. The album is due for release in February 2017, so this will give listeners a preview of what’s ahead.

The songs explore themes of otherness and in-between worlds told via stories of violent crimes against women. The lyrics evoke familiar landscapes, beaches, dunes, bushland and suburban streets explored and known intimately in childhood skewed with disturbing violent crimes from newspaper headlines that hit you deep in the pit of your stomach. This forms the inspiration for the album, alongside visions collected anecdotally and imagined in response to place. The music is chiaroscuro, light and dark, where the ethereal and the sinister coexist, meeting in some strange twilight place.

Walk the Night tells the story of a mother who met with foul play late one night in summer and never made it home to her children tucked up safely in bed. Instead she is doomed to exist in an in-between world where she must walk the night.

EWAH performs the songs on saturated and lush electric guitar with her band The Vision of Paradise (TVOP). Charles Donnelly layers atmospheric 80s analog synth; Stuart Hollingsworth on bass and Paul Brooks on drums grind out sleazy and insistent rhythms.

Mixed by Rob Long 2015 (Rowland S Howard, New War, Kate Miller-Heidke, Adalita) and mastered by King Willy 2016 (Grammy Award Winner Record of the Year 2013 with Gotye, Somebody That I Used To Know).
